The followings were the goals of DUBANA Executive Committee 2024-25
To continue helping BMB DU and BMB DU fellows financially and other possible ways.
To update DUBANA website.
To maximize the number of life members.
To organize programs at different occasions to improve fellowship among the members (locally and worldwide)
To continue DUBANA Talk.
To connect more fellows specially the newcomer fellows and support them as required.
To continue empowering the Regional Committees.
The followings are some of our activities since last annual conference held on July 13, 2024 in Maryland.
A. DUBANA Scholarship program
Four (4) DUBANA scholarship for current bachelor’s degree or master’s degree program of DU-BMB student(BDT 3500/month for one year)
Five (5) welcome scholarships for PhD or MS to PhD students will be announced soon. Five sponsors have com-mitted to contribute for this program for next five years.
B. Contribution to the program of DU-BMB .
A significant amount of money was contributed to the Art of Science Communication- 2024 – a Science writing and Communication Competition program held in BMB, DU.
In addition to the above contribution, DUBANA fellows contributed for the treatment of a BMB DU fellow named Jhantu. DUBANA fellows contributed in flood victims supporting activities organized by BMB-DU fellows.
Formation of various support teams
Clinical Laboratory Science training committee: Dr. Khyrul Wara – Lead, Dr. Rubayet Hasan Tanvi, Dr. Mo-hammed Arif, Mr. Rasel Ahsan.
DUBANA Scholarship Committee: Dr. Mohammad Arif -Lead, Dr. Arif Rahman, Ms. Fahmida Raha.
DUBANA Admission Support Committee: Dr. Marjia Afrin- Lead, Dr. Sharifun Nahar Mukta, Mr. Rafsan Radeen, Mr. Hassan Al Banna.
DUBANA Welfare Committee: Dr. Jubayer Rahman- Lead, Dr. Ahsan Habib Polash, Dr. Roman Al-Saikat,
Dr. Mahrima Parvin, Dr. Sharifun Nahar Mukta.
*President and General Secretary of DUBANA are members of all the subcommittees.
LAUANCING OF NEW OF DUBANA WEBSITE: DUBANA website has been updated with significant
amount of options and information including long waited easy payment option.
INCREASING NUMBER OF LIFE MEMBERS:
Seven DUBANA fellows have been registered as life members in last one year.
DUBANA Reunion
DUBANA Reunion and Scientific Symposium 2024 was successfully organized in Maryland which was hosted by
DUBANA fellows in Maryland and Virginia.
DUBANA Reunion 2025 is being hosted by DUBANA fellows living in Boston.
DUBANA Online Conference
New year celebration of DUBANA was held on January 25, 2025. A huge number of participats were there.
DUBANA Talks
Total 5 Talks ( 22- 26 ) in last one year. 7 Talks since our journey with existing committee in Jan 2024. Altogether
26 DUBANA Talks have been successfully organized so far.
Some of the recent topics for DUBANA sessions were “Career opportunities beyond research, Transforming Data
into Stories (How to communicate Science in writing ), Next Generation Biotech Scientists: Opportunities in North
America, Maintaining quality in Diagnostic Laboratories: Strategies and challenges, Navigating graduate programs
in North America : key Insights for a winning application”, etc.
Most of the records of DUBANA Talks will be available in DUBANA website soon.
Regional Committees
All the regional committees have organized reunion at different levels in their own regions to strengthen our fellowship.
Continuous Improvement of fellowship
DUBANA website, Linked In group and Facebook group, DUBANA-DU BMB bridge Facebook groups, DUBANA
TALK page, DUBANA e-mails such as du_biochemists@googlegroups.com (for all DUBANA fellows) ,
dubanacanada2022@gmail.com ( for DUBANA Canada Fellows), Messenger groups for different Regions, cities ,
Messenger groups for Clinical Specialists- BMB DU, DUBANA website www.dubana.org , etc. have been generated
most of which are very active in circulating any messages and interaction between each other easily.
Things are in plan
Enriching website to make it more popular and dynamic, managing secured database with sign in option, collection
of more money to make a sustainable fund for DUBANA scholarship programs, strengthening different support
teams to ensure maximum possible output for all target groups.
DUBANA Executive committee is thankful to all who are coming forward to help financially and different other
ways. Fruitful suggestions and inspiration from fellows are the main fuels of our journey. Fellows’ active participation
and positive interaction will be always appreciated.
