Goal of DUBANA
The goal of the Dhaka University Biochemistry Alumni in North America (DUBANA) is to foster a strong, supportive alumni network that bridges the gap between past graduates and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Dhaka University.
Promote Networking and Collaboration:
Fostering connections and friendships among the the Dhaka University Biochemistry and Molecular Biology alumni residing in North America.
Support Dhaka University
Assisting the teaching and research activities of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Support Career Development
Connecting scientists, students, and trainees in the field to aid in finding employment opportunities and enhancing their careers.
Advocate for High Standard in Education and Research
Serving as a platform for making specific recommendations to research and educational institutions, as well as government organizations, to improve the standards of education, science, and technology.
Financial Support to the Students & Alumni for Education
Providing scholarships/grants to the Dhaka University Biochemistry and Molecular Biology students seeking higher education in North America.
Conduct Educational Events
Organizing seminars, workshops, and educational events individually and in collaboration with other national and regional meetings.

DUBANA Awarded Scholarship Funds to DUBMB Students
DUBANA Past President Dr. Arifur Rahman formally handed over scholarship funds to DUBMB Chairman Dr. Zakir H. Hawlader to support four DUBMB students, each receiving a fixed monthly stipend for one year. DUBANA extends its sincere appreciation to DUBMB Student Advisor Dr. Riazul Mohammad for coordinating the handover ceremony, who is also pictured. The department will announce the application process next month. This initiative marks the fourth consecutive year that DUBANA has provided annual scholarships to students of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. In addition, just last month, DUBANA supported eight newly admitted PhD students who recently arrived in the United States and Canada. We applaud the dedication and generosity of DUBANA members whose continued contributions make these scholarships possible year after year.
