A message from The President
It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to the upcoming DUBANA Reunion and Scientific Seminar in Boston. This special gathering brings together our vibrant Dhaka University Biochemistry family from across North America for a celebration of community, collaboration, and continued commitment to our roots.
What started nearly two decades ago with the gathering under one roof, has blossomed into something extraordinary. That first meeting, filled with laughter and nostalgia, marked the beginning of what would become a powerful network of professionals, mentors, and lifelong friends.
Back then, the focus was simple: reconnecting. Today, we do so much more.
Over the years, DUBANA has grown beyond reunions and reminiscence. We now offer scholarships to DU-BMB current and students coming to North America, host DUBANA Talk sessions to guide students entering North America, and continue to support the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Dhaka University in meaningful ways. These are achievements made possible by you, our dedicated members.
This year's reunion in Boston offers a chance to form new bonds, exchange ideas, and contribute to the future of our alumni in North America and the student in the department. One area where we need your continued support is membership growth. If you haven’t done so already, I urge you to become a registered, dues-paying member. You can also contribute to any amount toward any project that we have untaken or even for a cause you think we can implement. This is vital to keeping DUBANA strong and sustainable.
I want to extend sincere thanks to the Boston Reunion and Symposium Committee for their tireless efforts in organizing this event and my very special thanks goes to Dr. Sawkat Anwer from Boston who is not only supporting Boston Reunion but also continuously supporting DUBANA in many different avenues. My heartfelt appreciation also goes out to our scholarship donors, the DUBANA Sub-Committees, the DU-BMB collaborators, and all those working behind the scenes to make this organization thrive.
A special thanks to the DUBANA Executive Committee for their leadership and dedication throughout the year.
I look forward to seeing you at the reunion sharing stories, building partnerships, and shaping the future of our alumni network. Let’s make this event a milestone in our journey.
Warm regards,
Shoaib Chowdhury, Ph.D.
President, DUBANA.
